Festival of Bssissa

Within the framework of Heritage Month (18 April - 18 May) and as usual in every year starting from the year 2000, the Association of the maintenance of the

city of Lamta organized the national contest for the best Bssissa in the Republic. For this purpose, a committee of nutrition specialists selects the best of the award and award it.

Bssissa is considered one of the oldest plates in Tunisia, where its origins date back to the Roman, Carthaginian and Byzantine periods. Today, Bssissa is in

every house across the country. The taste vary  according to the region, climate and social conditions. In Tunisia's long history and culture and the secret of

the jurisdiction of a city to which it belongs, is that the inhabitants of the city of lamta have long been known for their specialization in their classification.
