Located in the middle east of the Tunisian country on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, the city of Lamta lies in-between 92th road between Sousse and Monastir on one side and Mahdia on the other

It is bordered to the south by the city of Sayada and west by Bouhajar and Kasr Helal and to the north by the city of Ksiba Mediouni, either eastward and bordering the Mediterranean Sea

The city is 193 hectares of size

The city follows the administrative district of Monastir. It has been a municipal area since 8 April 1985.

It is connected to Tunisia through walking, as well as the light metro link between Sousse, Mounsir and Mahdia.

The city of Lamta is topographically located to the low coast, with an altitude of only 30 meters.

The region is dominated by a Mediterranean climate characterized by irregular rainfall and precipitation.

The region enjoys its proximity to the sea, enjoying its breeze in the summer and warm in the winter and with its moisture, which compensates relatively for lack of rain.
