"A date with history" .. Classification of "Nol Lamta" within archaeological sites in Maghreb

 The Special Committee, which was held on Thursday at the Ministry of Culture, approved the classification of the Nol Lemta site of the Asir group in the province of Guelmim, among the archaeological sites in El Maghreb.

"This gain will have positive repercussions for the region as a whole," said Mubarak Mouteeq, a member of the group, who wrote on his Facebook page.

 

In order to preserve the material and non-material heritage of the Asrir family, the Association of Citizen Initiatives has sent many lettres to a group of local and central authorities over the protection of the Nol Lamta, one of the most important cities in the Middle Ages.

 

As noted in a previous article, this association has attached its correspondence to a collection of maps that prove the boundaries of the archaeological site "Nol Lamta"a Muslim area and signed by the Maghreb Institute of Archeology in Rabat.

The city of Lamta is located in the eastern part of the country of Tunisia on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and extends along the two avenues of the 92nd road between Sousse and Monastir on the one hand and Mahdia on the other 

It is bordered to the south by the city of Sayada and west by Bouhjar and by Kasr Hlal and to the north by the city of Ksiba Mediouni, either eastward and bordered by the Mediterranean Sea.
