Lamta of Monastir has lived on Saturday and Sunday the  sensitization campaign aimed at consumers under the slogan «Food Heritage enriches us»

organized by the National Institute for Agricultural Research in Tunis under the supervision of Monastir and in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Tunis and the maintenance of the city of Lamta under the project system "Mediterranean food and food value "in the presence of nutrition experts from the National Institute of Nutrition in Tunisia and foreign delegations from Greece, Italy, Spain, Egypt and Lebanon representatives of their countries participating in the program of cooperation between the White Mediterranean countries I. .

Dr. Roda Al-Khalidi, Director of Agricultural Research at the National Institute for Agricultural Research in Tunisia, said that the project, which deals with the Mediterranean diet and the valuation of traditional materials, is organized in ten states: Bizerte, Tunis, Ariana, Bajeh, Nabuls, Sousse, Monastir, Mahdia, Sfax and Medenine. The project started during the last weeks in the state of Beja, In the city of Lamta. The Mediterranean food project is being organized in six Mediterranean countries and aims to raise awareness among consumers about the importance of maintaining a healthy food tradition and implementing sustainable initiatives to preserve the Mediterranean diet, targeting 5,000 students and 15,000 consumers from the six countries. The activities of the project, which will be organized in the city of Lamta under the title «Food heritage in the state of Monastir enriches us», in particular, the campaign of awareness event over two days where the products of the Authority and the field visits to farmers and the organization of competitions and training sessions in the preparation of traditional dishes and this would contribute to the achievement of food security and development The creation of workplaces, the integration of rural women, the promotion of tourism and the improvement of the quality of traditional products. It is worth noting that during the national call for proposals, the Association for the maintenance of the city of Lamta was organized to organize this event as it has previous experiences in the evaluation of traditional food, especially through the organization of the Bssissa Festival and its fame with the best Bssissa in the Republic. Related to the preparation of Bssissa and traditional dishes of the region.
